On the last weekend of June 2015, I had the pleasure of doing makeup on a super sweet bridal party at the Windermere House nestled on the bank of Lake Rosseau in beautiful Muskoka.
Ivana was the kind of bride every makeup artist loves - very relaxed, incredibly kind and put her entire trust in my artistic capabilities. Her only request was that she still look like herself (aka not "too much" makeup), while still having flawless skin and her eyes accentuated. To create her bridal makeup look I took inspiration from her gorgeous flowers, which had tones of peach, pink, cream, white and blush (kind of the perfect bridal palette if you ask me!).To secure what I was going to create I asked to see the dress, a stunning romantic style with white lace and chiffon mix with a hint of nude. With those 2 key elements I knew exactly what I was going to do - and she loved it! The colors we used were beige-y peach, dark warm browns, and light brown-y pinks with a hint of light shimmery pearl color to highlight all the right areas. Topped off with individual lashes, peach-y pink cheeks and lips and the look was perfect for Ivana's wedding!
The bridesmaids had the same color palette, but the eye makeup was softer. I prefer to have the bridal party in similar looks, while the bride be a little different. I feel this makes her stand out, and the bridal party compliments her. That being said, everyone is different, and it's not the exact same look on each person! Half of the lovely bridesmaids from this party had delicate eye makeup with a prominent winged liner, while the other half had a very soft diffused smoky eye. Their colors were similar for the lips and cheeks, a nice peachy pink, while the eye makeup had beige-y peach, warm browns, and taupe-y pinks. This complimented the blush pink dresses they were all wearing, which may I add is an amazingly versatile color and is beautiful on all skin tones!
The Windermere House is a gorgeous cozy resort. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished. What impressed me most, is how large the room was! Once you add the hair and makeup artists, plus the entire bridal party, plus photographers, family coming by to see the bride, etc, it becomes a must to have a room that can comfortably accommodate everyone. This specific room had multiple windows and a large walk out balcony - all the wins! On top of how great the room was, the service was impeccable, and the lunch spread that was supplied was the best I've seen. If you are thinking of getting married in Muskoka, I highly recommend Windermere House!
